The SOS Coalition needs your signature!

A new vision for citizen public broadcasting

The civil society coalition Support Public Broadcasting (SOS) is dedicated to the broadcasting of quality, diverse, citizen-orientated public programming committed to the the goals of the SA Constitution.

The Coalition welcomes the commitment made by the Ministry and Department of Communications in September 2011 to embark on a comprehensive broadcasting policy review process, including the development of a Broadcasting Green and White Paper leading to new broadcasting laws.

The SOS Coalition has developed a set of broad principles we would like the Minister to ensure is reflected in new laws for the SABC and community media.

We would like individuals, groups, organisations, federations, movements etc. to sign onto these principles. Also, if you disagree please tell us why.
